Is your computer performing the way it should?

The answer to that question is probably not. Even brand new computers from the major makers, such as Dell and Gateway, come packed with unnecessary programs that start when your computer boots and run in the background sucking up valuable system resources. So even right out of the box your computer is not running at peak efficiency. For older computers, slow downs and freezing is even more common because in addition to the programs that came with the computer, you also have programs that you want to install and use. Unfortunately, alot of these programs also start when your computer boots. This is not usually necessary. Most, if not all, of these programs can run just fine if they are set to not start up when your computer boots.

Believe me when I say that this is just the tip of the iceberg. You should think of your computer like you think of your car. They both need maintenance. If you just drive your car and never

tune it up or change the oil it will eventually not work properly. The same is true with your computer. Every hard drive needs to be 'tuned up' occasionally. It's also possible that much of the software you use may also need special attention such as updating.

For most people this sounds like a very daunting task and a bit overwhelming. I have met people that thought they needed a new computer every year because theirs was running too slow when all it really needed was a little T.L.C.
